Falling in Love With Sukhothai, Thailand
I have always been very fascinated by humans — their culture, their beliefs, their different ways of living life. I just love learning it all!
When I was asked which Thailand village I wanted to visit Sukhothai called my name. There was something so magical about this place even from the very few photos I saw of it. I knew there was a magic to this city, an amazing history and if I really wanted to learn about the true Thai people, their history and traditions this would be the place to do it!
I am so glad and happy to say Sukhothai stole my heart and soul and will forever be engraved in my heart. I love this place so much and most of all I love the amazing people that live in this city. They truly honor their home, heritage, culture, traditions, history and art.
Beyond their way of living and what they do for a living, they all seem to have this beautiful good and humble heart, where all they want to do is teach, help and do better for this world and their community. They are all so generous, kind, wise and humble. They all have beautiful beliefs and enjoy the simplicity of life.
I have done and learned many amazing things in my time in Sukhothai and here are some of the amazing people I met, things I learned and things I experiences! Enjoy 🙂
MAKING MY DREAM COME TRUE – WEARING A TRADITIONAL THAI OUTFIT!
When dream really do come true ?
Since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to wear a traditional Thai outfit and I’m so grateful for the city of #Sukhothai for making that dream come true but also in the most magical of ways ✨
I didn’t get to just wear a traditional Thai outfit and be the queen ?? of Thailand for a few hours lol ? but it all happened during sunset time ? with the perfect city view overlooking the beautiful ancient ruins on the river and we got to make beautiful water floats?, light them up ?, make a wish and float them on the river.
It all felt like a dream out of some movie ✨?? so grateful for this magical experience ?
Sukhothai Historical Park (Ancient Ruins)
Day.1
Hi beautiful souls ?? from the beautiful city of Sukhothai, Thailand!
Just look at how beautiful this magical city is and I’m just getting started ✨?
Sukhothai is actually the first capital city of Thailand before Bangkok and it’s here in this magical city that Thai writing ✍? was created! Here are a few beautiful photos from this #Sukhothai historical park!
I LOVED spending time here and learning about the history of Sukhothai, lord Buddha and the different kings. This place is so special, peaceful, relaxing and magical to explore.
Most people rent a bike and go around the historical park and stop at different temple ruins. There is so much to see and it’s so interesting and beautiful.
If you haven’t been following my insta-stories I’ve been spending the last few days in Thailand on the “Thailand Village Academy Competition” (press trip), along side 44 other bloggers and we are covering 22 Thai villages (2 bloggers in each city) from July. 24-29th and on July. 31st the winner for the best content is announced!
Learn To Make Pottery at Usa Sangkhlalok with Hathairat
What an amazing way to start off the day than with this beautiful soul!
This morning we had the pleasure of spending it with Hathairat Prompech as she welcomed us into her home which she turned into an art pottery gallery and where she also teaches people how to make her amazing clay pottery. She teaches them to draw, step by step and making beautiful pieces of art.
Aww ? I loved meeting this beautiful and special soul!
Hathairat Prompech and her husband have turned their home into a beautiful master piece with their amazing love for clay art ? by converted their living room into a gallery and also teach others to do make beautiful clay art! Was so fun making our own plates today with the city’s traditional icons and symbols while meeting Hathairat and learning how alike we are ??? love seeing people doing what they love and making a career out of it.
When it was time to leave she didn’t want me to leave <3 she said love has no language.
Thank you for welcoming us into your home! All the best to you and ur family ?
Me and Hathairat had a very deep connection from the moment we met. We are very alike in so many ways. It’s so beautiful to meet amazing souls like her. Hope to see her again in the future.
Learning to Make Wooden Handicraft – Sukhothai
So cool to get to connect with the villagers of Sukhothai and learn about their livelihood.
Today I learned how to make beautiful wooden craven from scratch!
I sat down with the family and learned a lot their lifestyle. This husband has been doing this work every day for my entire life! 33 years! That’s wild and amazing! But he says he loves what he does! It makes his soul happy ????
He said every morning he wakes up and starts working right away, carving the wood into different shapes and designs. He says he works until the sun goes down. Many times he loses track of time but he loves what he does so it doesn’t matter to him. This is what makes him happy.
His wife is the one that makes the actual designs on the wooden carving and helped me make my very own wooden carving.
This is the symbol of the bird of protection so having it in your house saves you from evil spirit and protects your home ? I really really enjoyed making these designs and meeting this amazing family!
They are both amazing at what they do!
The Amazing Light Show In Sukhothai
I am so glad we were in Sukhothai at the perfect timing! This magical and amazing light show only happens in Sukhothai 2 times a month and we were blessed enough to be there at the perfect timing! This was so special to me! It was perfect and magical in every way!
There were fireworks ?, lantern being released in the sky, candles ? floating around the river, amazing and insane traditional Thai costume that were sooo next level! Beautiful music, all in their historical park with beautiful Ancient ruins!
I was in tears at how beautiful the show was and what an amazing job they did!
King’s Birthday & Making Pottery
Today is the King ? birthday in Thailand ?? so the whole country wears yellow ? in his honor.
Also today I got a weird allergic reaction to something. Different places in my body started to burn up. Felt like it was on fire. Totally an odd and weird experience. They think it’s from an insect ? but it spread all over my body and I almost fainted and went to the hospital but oddly funny enough doing this (pottery) made it all go away. Once I was fully engaged in doing this, the pain disappeared.
Art heals your mind, body and soul! ??♀️
I’ve wanted to try doing this since I was little so I’m so glad I made another dream come true! ?
Such a fun day! I love visiting this family and seeing how they have been making these beautiful pottery for over 600 years!
It was beautiful, fun and therapeutic! I actually can’t wait to do this again when I get back home! I loved it so much!
Thank you so much for hosting us and bring us into ur home and cooking for us an amazing lunch ???
Saying Goodbye to Sukhothai is so hard and sad
After spending 6 days in Sukhothai it’s time to say goodbye and I don’t want to ?

I’m so sad to have to say goodbye to this amazing and beautiful good souls. I love them all so much. They are all so special in their own way!
Even though they don’t speak English and I don’t speak thai we still had such a beautiful and magical connection!
